The awards recognise the best residential project, the best spatial design and interior design project, and the best hotel project developed in Ibiza and Formentera
The ceremony, held at Club Diario de Ibiza, brought together institutional representatives and professionals from architecture, interior design and construction
Estudio Kismet, Ecodisseny and MGAG Arquitectos are the winners of the first Suministros Ibiza Architecture and Construction Awards 2025–2026. The awards were presented this Thursday at Club Diario de Ibiza, at a ceremony hosted by journalist Montse Monsalve and designed to highlight the quality, creativity and technical expertise of the professionals transforming spaces in Ibiza and Formentera.
Pedro Cardona, General Manager of Suministros Ibiza, presented each winner with an award made from Ibiza stone, extracted by hand from the company’s own quarry and crafted by its master stonemasons. Rooted in the local landscape, the piece embodies the awards’ aim of recognising projects that bring together design, construction, innovation and respect for their surroundings. "For Suministros Ibiza, promoting these awards is our way of encouraging good practice and inspiring future generations of professionals to keep striving for excellence," Cardona stated at the opening of the ceremony.
Three categories recognising talent in the Pityusic Islands
In the Best Residential Project category, Estudio Kismet received the award for the renovation and rehabilitation of nine homes in the Sa Penya neighbourhood. The Best Spatial Design and Interior Design Project award went to Ecodisseny for the Sa Mirada project, while MGAG Arquitectos received the Best Hotel Project award for the Bonito Ibiza hotel.
The three winning practices collected their awards in front of industry professionals, jury members, officials and institutional representatives, at a ceremony with a lively, welcoming format. The event paid particular attention to the winning projects and to the people and teams who made them possible.
A jury with knowledge of the sector and the local area
The jury for this first edition included Lluís Oliva i Munar, President of the College of Architects of Ibiza and Formentera; María del Mar Pacheco, President of the College of Technical Architects of Ibiza and Formentera; Pedro Cardona, General Manager of Suministros Ibiza; and Mariano Juan Colomar, First Vice-President and Councillor for Territory, Tourism Planning, Mobility, Road Infrastructure and Combating Unlicensed Activity at the Consell d’Eivissa.
The assessment combined different professional and institutional perspectives. The criteria considered included creativity and originality of design, integration into the surroundings, innovative construction and technical solutions, the efficiency of building services, and the use of pioneering materials.
According to Lluís Oliva i Munar, President of the College of Architects of Ibiza and Formentera, "the entries submitted have demonstrated the very high quality of the projects we develop on our islands." Meanwhile, María del Mar Pacheco, President of the College of Technical Architects of Ibiza and Formentera, explained that "with these awards, we seek to recognise the islands’ excellence, creativity and innovation," highlighting the variety of projects submitted, "both in scale and approach, all of them showcasing the architecture of Ibiza and Formentera."
The awards ceremony was brought to a close by Mariano Juan Colomar, First Vice-President and Councillor for Territory, Tourism Planning, Mobility, Road Infrastructure and Combating Unlicensed Activity at the Consell d’Eivissa, who also acknowledged "the great technical, architectural and construction talent we have in the Pityusic Islands." He also noted that "the islands are not just any territory: they are a limited territory with an identity and a traditional architecture that is a true gem," while stating that "our great challenge is to innovate and incorporate new construction techniques while respecting our roots, building typologies and territory, without losing sight of where we are." Finally, Colomar stressed the importance of these awards, since "excellence and experience must be recognised, not only to reward effort but also to discover new role models and create new conversations."
Recognition created for the sector
With a history spanning more than six decades, Suministros Ibiza has supported successive generations of architects, technical architects, engineers, interior designers, developers and construction companies in creating homes, hotels and spaces that form part of the islands’ evolution.
The Suministros Ibiza Architecture and Construction Awards were created to raise the profile of this professional ecosystem and encourage dialogue between design, technical expertise, construction, sustainability and Mediterranean identity. This first edition was open to projects carried out in Ibiza or Formentera and completed between October 2025 and June 2026.
